Artist's Description
The last sheet in the pack of my favorite brand, Fabriano Artistico's Soft Press, needed something special. It is made by a paper mill in Italy that dates back to the 13th century. I began intending to do a sandy beach with some rocks, but upon the first stroke of the blue sky I knew this was going to be something different. So I went with it, without any idea of how this was supposed to turn out. I was very pleased with the results and hope you are too. About Frances Ku

Frances has been drawing since three years of age. Born in Taiwan and raised in Okinawa, she took art classes throughout high school and went to Parsons School of Design in New York City for a year. She also went back to Taiwan and drew political cartoons for a daily newspaper. Her desire to create beauty eventually led her to Maui, Hawaii. At 32 years old, she finally began painting full time by teaching herself watercolors. Watercoloring for her has been a lesson in respecting the element of water and being a co-creating partner to the dance.
