The turtle has finally arrived after a long journey. Simply by making sure the paintbrush is drenched, I dripped various colors of paint together, being careful in keeping the white areas dry and untouched. The original watercolor is hanging in a home in Wisconsin, USA.

Frances has been drawing since three years of age. Born in Taiwan and raised in Okinawa, she took art classes throughout high school and went to Parsons School of Design in New York City for a year. She also went back to Taiwan and drew political cartoons for a daily newspaper. Her desire to create beauty eventually led her to Maui, Hawaii. At 32 years old, she finally began painting full time by teaching herself watercolors. Watercoloring for her has been a lesson in respecting the element of water and being a co-creating partner to the dance.
